Meet the midwife

Hi, my name is Jesica and I am passionate about being a part of the miracle of birth.

If you are trying to find a midwife who will strongly advocate for a natural approach to childbirth and support you through a positive birthing experience, you have come to the right place. My care philosophy is holistic, focusing on supporting women and her family throughout pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period. I believe it is essential for women to be well-informed and actively involved in their own care. As a midwife, I prioritise a natural experience, intervening only when necessary.

Empowerment and informed choices are crucial for a positive birth experience, setting the stage for a rewarding journey into motherhood. I respect and take into account your choices and believe in shared decision-making.

I offer personalised, patient-centred care to all my clients, treating them with dignity and respect. Pregnancy is a joyful and natural process, and every woman deserves to embrace it fully. Each client is unique, and I celebrate that individuality. Through a compassionate, woman-empowered approach, we help families achieve their birth wishes by fostering meaningful support. I strive to make a positive impact not only in the lives of my clients but also in their families.

My three children were all amazing home birth experiences, which motivates me to make this option available to more women. I realised how crucial it is to find a midwife who offers empowering support, is compassionate, highly skilled and trained to assist during the natural process and knows how to respond effectively in case of an emergency. I believe that by equipping women with knowledge, we can help them gain confidence in their bodies, whether it is during pregnancy, labour or breastfeeding.

I am a Private Health Practitioner registered with the Board of Health Funders (BHF) an Advanced Midwife Specialist and a Professional Nurse (PN)/ Registered Nurse (RN) registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). I gained experience in both low and high-risk hospitals as well as maternity obstetric units (MOUs) before transitioning to work alongside an amazing, seasoned private midwife. Eventually, I established my own practice.

My qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Nursing Science (B-Cur Nursing degree) – Registered Nurse: in general, community health, psychiatry and midwifery nursing. 2007
  • M-Cur Nursing Masters degree – Advanced midwifery and neonatology. 2009
  • Certification in lactation management.
  • Resuscitation training.
